Taba Dale, a fine art dealer, was asked by collectors in the mid-1990s to seek
out golf art. It wasn't long before she took up the game herself, and last year
formed a company that brings a woman's point of view to golf excursions to Scottland
and Ireland. Because security and luxury are imoprtant to clients, Dale works
with five-star resorts, notably Turnberry, Gleneagles, and the Old Course Hotel
in Scotland. A typical day calls for 18 holes of golf with a caddie "followed
by a spa treatment, cultural outing, cashmere shopping, whisky tasting (wee drams),
maybe some sight-seeing." She also supplies a pre-trip checklist that covers
everything from weather and rain gear to the virtues of walking. Her groups are
typically women and mixed couples, and are rarely more than 16. "we try
to satisfy the hunger for all things beautiful, a golf course being the largest
interactive work of art on the planet,'" says Dale. 800.983.7783; www.scottsdalecollection.com.
